Windows 10 is locking up, not allowing access to GoToMyPC.com. Hard Boot required.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Windows 10 is locking up, not allowing access to GoToMyPC.com from remote location.  You must do a hard reboot to use any function (mouse, keyboard).  Once unit reboots, the system connects remotely every time.  The lockup seems to happen after long periods of inactivity, even though the computer has been left for the purpose of remote connectivity.

I understand that you have an HP ENVY Desktop - 750-267c. I read that the laptop locks up when left idle for sometime. You have to make a hard restart to make it to work. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you. 

 

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details: 

  • Since how long are you facing this issue?
  • Did any software changes or updates happen on the PC?

 

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix: 

  • Shutdown the PC.
  • Disconnect all cables (including the power cable) and other devices from the PC.
  • Press and hold the power button of the PC for 10 seconds and then release it.
  • Reconnect, the power cable, keyboard, mouse and the monitor and power on the PC.

 

If the issue persists then I suggest you to perform the steps from this HP article. The steps help in fixing various performance issues in Win10.
