unable to boot error message - automatic repair couldn't repair your pc.

pavillion 550-182
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

When i switch on my pc it goes into automatic repair.  An error message appears next 'Automatic repair couldn't repair your pc'  Log file C:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

From the troubleshoot, advanced options I have tried system restore, system image recovery, start-up repair and command prompt chk dsk as well as 'reset pc' but nothing has worked.

Can anyone help me please?

In a separate thread, I am attempting to help another user with a similar problem.  Look over the trouble shooting steps.

In that thread that user had already made a Linux Live bootable USB/DVD, which I would recommend for you to do, also.  I like Ubuntu or Knoppix.

If either one of those can see the drive then proceed with the troubleshooting steps suggested in that thread.  If any of those items do not resolve the issue, follow the last suggestion and replace the hard drive.
