Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello. I think it is impossible but will defer to more experienced peeps on this.

I picked up an EX900 m.2 SSD at a great price to play around with and I wonder if I can install it in my XW8600 using a PCIe adapter and make it a boot device.

The bios don't seem to recognize it as a storage device much less for boot. I have tried different storage settings but even though the 8600 has AHCI it won't see it.

I did find a WIN7 driver for it but it won't do me any good for the boot device.

Tnx

Unfortunately that is not a viable upgrade.

The EX900 m.2 SSD is a PCIe 3 NVMe type SSD and that makes it incompatible with the BIOS and  chipset in your XW8600 workstation.
