HP Omen Gaming Laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

As the title says, I had some major cleanup needed on my fans, now my HDMI port is no longer working to connect to my external monitor. I’ve tried updating uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers, booting into safe mode, manually extending my screen, probably every hardware fix I could find on the internet. Im assuming I need to go back into my motherboard to find the problem, any idea what I need to look for?

You need to determine if the problem is the laptop, cable or monitor

Connect monitor to xbox, Playstation or Cable TV see if it works

Connect laptop to TV using hdmi cable

try another cable.

look in cable end for debris.  Same for connector.  Get a flashlight and magnifier to inspect

A cable can be damaged by bending.  2 and 3 inch bend radius are not recommended for 24 and 28 gauge  respectively.

Get a 90 or 270 degree adapter as needed.  Usually the symptom is bad video or audio, not complete loss.,
