OMEN 25L Desktop PC GT12-0000i (7WM05AV)

Hi first and foremost I hope this message finds you all well. I am having a bit of trouble with my Omen PC, I recently bought a ram stick set to replace the single ram stick which was factory installed  the ram sticks in question are

"TeamGroup T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 PC4-25600 CL16 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit TLZGD416G3200H - Gray"  can be found https://www.microcenter.com/product/632928/teamgroup-t-force-vulcan-z-16gb-(2-x-8gb)-ddr4-3200-pc4-2...I was able to install them but they run at 2400mhz under what the max on the mobo of the regular dorado mobo supports (up to 2993) or the dorado oc (max 3200), I did go into the bios, but XMP seemed to be gone when looking around in the advanced tab, I did see the custom option and tried 3200, 2993, don't remember exactly if I tried 2666, but the ones I did try all that would happen is it would turn on, shut off, turn on shut off, then stay of for a little bit if it did and make beeps every few seconds then finally work, but would basically reset back to 2400 mhz. How would I go about this, is this a proprietary thing where they HAVE to be hyper x or what way can I fix it to setup the ram correctly. One more thing for my own knowledge does dual channel work the same on here as in other motherboards where dual channel is either slot 1 & 3 or slot 2 & 4. I heard it depends on the motherboard but couldn't find much info on this build   Thank you for your help in advanced.

I understand that you are getting issues with the recently installed Ram, I am glad to assist you.

Update the Bios, chipset, and drivers using HP Support Assistant.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

 

  • HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
  • Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
  • Click Updates in the My notebook pane
  • Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
  •  Updates list in HP Support Center
  • Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
  • Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
  • Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also, ensure Windows is up to date.

  • Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
