Omen 870-204na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I was wondering if the PSU and therefore the Graphics Card are upgradeable in the HP Omen 870-204na.

I can access both and have previously upgraded the ram and secondary hard drive to a larger SSD.

However to upgrade the graphics card I'm going to need a higher wattage PSU with extra power slots.

Will any fit or do I need SFX or are the PSU's proprietary to the motherboard and I need to start again with a new build?

Current plan is to buy a 550w PSU and RX Vega 56 to upgrade from the 300w installed HP and the rx 480 4gb

Cheers

@1905dar,

Pondering the choice of a 550W.  Otherwise what you said was a well thought out inquiry with substance and clarity.  AMD recommends a 650W.   Increase of 120W     AMD site     PSU that I would recommend

Thanks for your reply, but to confirm, they are both user upgradeable?
If the increase is only 120w and my current psu is 300w is 650 really required?
