Hello, it is a probem with your CPU fan or an other fan? How many fans have you in your computer??

Normally you just need check the diameter (in your case) of your fan and his connector. In your motherboard you have standard connectors for CPU fan and an other fan:

@badblockz,

It would be my pleasure to assist you.

An 80mm fan measures aprox 3.145 inches.  How to measure a fan.   It is likely an 80mm fan, and PWM (4 wires). Example of the fan atop the heatsink is shown here. Just an example.  If you look down into the corner holes of the fan, you will notice the screws. Put a dab of finger nail polish on the center hub to mark the UP side. Unplug the 4 pin power cord, then remove the fan. You can now measure the fan.  As you rotate the fan housing, you will note an arrow marking the direction of the fan blades. That is why I asked you to dab paint of the center hub.

Thank you all for the prompt reply. I checked again and it seems that the fan is fine. What was broken is the base which holds the fan over the heatsink.

Any idea where to get that specific part?

Thanks!

Hello, this is a cooling system, contains a radiator and a fan. Normally you can separate this two components and replace only the fan.

If you want to replace it, I have found the entire HP cooling system  here (unknown site):

https://www.impactcomputers.com/460103200-553-g.html

It is very expansive, but normally you can use any cooling system compatible with your CPU, same this:
