Can I use memory M378B1G73DBO-CKO in my computer that has M378B1G73QHO-CKO both are 8GB 2RX8 PC3 12800U thanks for your help

not recomended, but can be done

 

the first number is for DDR3-1600 speed ram the second is for DDR-3 1280 speed which is slower

 

if you install the slower ram, the faster ram will step down in speed to match, and this will result in slower overall computer speed

Am I missing something here both RAM are 8GB 2RX8 PC3 12800U does that not make them the same speed?

Pay close attention to the numbers they are not the same , one is "DB0" the other is"QH0" and usually this does not make a diffrence in most systems, but some systems do care. if you have the ram install it and i don't think you will have any problems as both seem to use the same type memory chips on the module

 

the markings between the two are slightly diffrent, one is 11-11-xx the other is 11-12-xx

 

the system will run at the slowest speed ram module
