I have a very severe problem with my computer HP Compaq dc7900 Small Form Factor. The optical drive is not showing in the BIOS and in Windows Explorer. What can be at issue?

hey
If not visible at all there may be a hardware problem
turn off the computer
unplug everything, leave only keyboard mouse, and monitor
disconnect the power plug from the computer.
hold down the power button for a while
open the computer, unplug the dvd player, check the cables if not damaged
then reboot!
Once the computer has started up, turn it off again.
Repeat what I said at the beginning, and reconnect the dvd player, then restart!
if nothing probably faulty
