@Nonechuck -- what is the part-numbers for the original sticks of RAM, and for the new sticks of RAM?
How many memory-chips per side does the original RAM have? Are you chips on both sides?
Same two questions for the new RAM.
On each stick, are there numbers in the format of "11-11-11-26", or some other numbers?
Do all the sticks have identical numbers?
You may have added "incompatible" RAM.

Hi @Nonechuck, as @itsmyname mentioned, chances are you did mix incompatible RAM.
According to HP's specs https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01151591, the best possible RAM configuration for your desktop would consist of 4 x 2GB 240-pin DDR2 DIMM - PC2-6400 (800 MHz) Non-ECC memory unbuffered RAM.
In my opinion, perhaps you want to consider starting anew with a new, same brand/specification RAM kit such as this inexpensive ($28.99) 4 x 2GB RAM kit via Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Kuesuny-PC2-6400-PC2-6400U-Non-ECC-Unbuffered/dp/B07PW5J626/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3...
Good luck!
Kind Regards,
