How old is the disk-drive? Is it a "spinning" disk-drive (5400 RPM? 7200 RPM?) or a SSD (solid state device) ?

Maybe, it's time to replace the current disk-drive by a SSD ???

When you start the Windows "Task Manager", and switch to its "Performance" tab, click to start "Performance Monitor", to get much more detail about which task is doing the most I/O per second, and what files are being accessed.
