Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

My monitor will not turn on, tried new vga-nothing, was able to remove ram and re-insert and worked a few but no more. Changed to 2x 4gb ram and still nothing? I want to get this working and also want to see if this unit is upgradable to win 10, before I put money into it?

Looking through the specs for your model, I don't see anything that would prevent it from working in Win10.

I wish there was some way to tell precisely, but while Microsoft has released this tool to check your hardware and software for compatibility, they have not updated it in some time, and there is no way of knowing if it checks for Win10 v1903, or even Win10 v1809:  http://www.intowindows.com/download-windows-10-upgrade-advisor/

However, BEFORE you attempt the upgrade, you would do well to perform an image backup of your current setup.  That way, if the upgrade fails, you have something to restore FROM.

I personally prefer to use third-party Backup solutions as they tend to be both more flexible and more reliable than any built-in solutions.

Macrium Reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or entire drives.

What I recommend is the following:
1) Download and install Macrium Reflect (MR) from here: http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
2) Run MR and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition(s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB stick
3) Use the option to create a boot USB stick or CD

My experience is that MR, when using the High Compression option, typically can compress the saved image file to about 50% of the USED space in the OS partition. This means if you have an 80GB OS partition, and 40GB is used, MR only needs about 20GB to store the image file.

I use this all the time and it typically takes less than 15 minutes to do the image backup and about the same time or less to do a restore.

NOW, you have the means to restore a full working system from the external drive or USB stick in only a few minutes.

As of now I can’t even get any connections,  When I turn on the computer it’s start searching for a connection and then it says and default is vga and monitor going to sleep. I tried a new VGA cord and that didn’t fix it so at this time I haven’t use the computer in a few months

I don't understand why your PC would be searching for a connection on startup.

Connections are for networking -- wired or WiFi -- and are not used during startup or boot.

If you're having a networking issue, then you need to mention that -- and I'll bow out because I don't do networking problems.
