Upgrading from a HP Compaq dc5700 microtower

Microsoft Windows XP

Help please .

I have been using a

HP Compaq dc5700 microtower computer for several years now and been very pleased with its performance and I obviously have to update but could someone suggest what a modern version of this computer would be ?

I use it for my job as translator, so I don't play games on it,...  I do copy CDs and DVDs, and need to be on the Internet a lot, looking for terminology and so on.

All suggestions appreciated.

Anton

Take a look at: https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c02779498

"HP Compaq 6200 Pro Microtower PC - Overview"

for the "next-generation" upgrade for your DC5700.

The HP Compaq 6200 Pro includes (10) USB 2.0 ports, PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports, DisplayPort v1.1a, VGA video interfaces with Intel Q65 Express chipset

It is getting rare to find a motherboard with PS/2 ports.

Hi:

The HP Prodesk 600 series would be the current PC generation.

You would need to make sure you get a product number that comes with a DVD RW drive.

A lot of new PC's don't come with DVD drives anymore.

They also now all use USB keyboards and mice.

You may want to consider getting an off lease older PC that would still be much better than your dc5700, such as the HP 6300 Pro.
