BIOS update

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion a6240.za
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I would like to know what is the newest BIOS update for my PC and where can I find it.

The reason is I would like to try and overclock my CPU but the current BIOS does not have support for overclocking.

The latest BIOS for that motherboard seems to be 5.13 dated May 8, 2008

sp37377.exe

(1.7 MB)

This came from the Vista OS, so not new at all. Most HP BIOS ( OEM ) do not allow overclocking of the CPU, especially old ones like this one.  Just FYI

Thanks

From what I have red on the internet is that the core 2 quad Q6600 2.4GHz can be overclocked alot and quite easy.

If the motherboard supports it.

I cannot help you on the specifics.  The best way for overclocking is to use a motherboard that is designed for that - IE: NOT an OEM motherboard.
