Bluetooth

HP Pavilion 20-b010 All-in-One Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

okay , so i am sure my PC does not have bluetooth, ( i looked in the device manager and no ) i bought a USB bluetooth adapter plug in and i am trying to set it up with no luck, Do i need to install some type of bluetooth software??, when i ask my PC to search for new devices it never picks up on my bluetooth enabled headphones. (even with the USB bluetooth adapter pluged in) what am i doing wrong here? can some1 please help!?!?

Hi,

 

Bluetooth services may not running. Please check Task Manager and start them automatically

  • Open Task Manager,
  • Click Services tab,
  • Locate above Services,
  • Right click and Run (automatically).

Hi, @faith090886

 

Some model bluetooth USB adapters do need drivers.  Sometimes, Windows only installs a generic bluetooth driver, which is not sufficient for the bluetooth to function properly.

 

If you let me know the exact model of the USB bluetooth adapter you purchased, I will see if there are specific W8.1 BT drivers you need to install for it.

thanks for responding, i went into my task manager again and did infact locate the "bluetooth handsfree service" and the bluetooth support service" on turned them both on to running. i then tried again to locate new device (made sure bluetooth headphone are on and tried to sync) but my PC is still not picking them up. the Bluetooth USB plug in brand that i bought and am trying to set up is: WICKED AUDIO THE REACH
