Client Security Setup Asks For PW, But Windows is Setup For PIN

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is a new machine. At Windows setup time I chose to authenticate with a PIN instead of username and password. HP Client Security Setup asks for the "Microsoft Windows Password", but there is no PW and the setup will not accept the PIN used to log in to the computer. So how do I continue with the Client Security Setup? I did try and also associate a password with the account but received an error that "The system is not authoritative for the account and therefore cannot complete the operation". My account is in the administrator group

Just a few questions.

1) How  "new" is this machine?

2) What email handler do you have?  hotmail, gmail

3) Can you use this to get help?


Otherwise, use another computer and open a hotmail email account.  Be sure to write it down.  Then force a clean install, and start over.  After it's done, you can set up a 4 character pin.


PS<> Cautionary notice:  You must have an email and valid phone number to use with WIN 10.  If you ever change, you'll lose your means to get a password.
