HP ENVY23 no audio after Win10 upgrade

HP Recommended
HP ENVY23 Model C115XT
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi,

I do have an HP Envy23 All-in-one (no touchscreen) model C115XT that was running in Win 8.1 PRO with no problems. I upgraded it to Win10 and after that I have no sound on the beats audio speakers neither on the headphones jack.

Tried the sound troubleshooter and it does not detect the problem, Windows update add everything that was needed and no drivers are found on HP website.

The current sound driver shown at device manager is: IDT High Definition Audio codec

Any help is welcome.

Thanks

William

Hi,

Check to be sure that your default sound is set to internal speakers and unattach any external speakers or headset.

Uninstall the sound driver in Device Manager then reboot. Windows should then reinstall the driver.  If no joy, then try the below suggestion.

Try installing the Windows 8.1 IDT sound driver.

Hi, @webg2000 :

If neither of those options work, try this W10 IDT audio driver and restart the PC.

This package provides the IDT Tempo High Definition Audio Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.

File name: sp71717.exe

Hi, tried to add the 8.1 and the W10 IDT drivers and none of them worked.

The 8.1 installed apparently with no errors but no changes.

The W10 started to install but then it gave me an "unknow error during install" pop box and then stopped.

Thanks to both but I'm still in the same position
