How to update bios from flash drive window 10 desktop

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

download update BIOS toflash drive how to boot it off to install to computer.

Hi:

 

You can only update the BIOS through Windows 10.

 

There is no way to boot from a USB flash drive to install it.

I downloaded it to my flash drive from HP..because of blue screen per Microsoft I need to update BOIS...need to know how to update it on to my computer..my last update was 2015..

Hi:

 

Can you get into windows on your PC?

 

If you can't, then you can't update the BIOS until you can get into Windows either by using the system recovery  (F11) option, or reinstalling W10.

Yes I can get on. My window need to update bios with flash drive

OK, then copy the file from the flash drive to your hard drive--like the downloads folder in your user profile.

 

Double-click to run the file and then follow the on screen instructions to install.

 

I did notice that there are two different BIOS files on your PC's support page, so make sure you have the right one for your PC's BIOS.  If you look in the system information window in your PC's BIOS, it should indicate what ROM Family it is.

 

(ROM Family SSID 2B43or (ROM Family SSID 2B44)
