Importing files from external hard drive onto my new HP Pavilion desktop PC570-p0xx

HP Pavilion 570-p000 Desktop PC series

Hi, I apologise for the silly question...

Before I stopped using my old HP PC, I copied files (Word docs & images) onto an external hard drive.

Now I want to copy those files from that external hard drive onto my new HP Pavilion desktop PC 570-p0xx.

It's got THREE drives:

C-DRIVE: headed "This PC" which is half full

D-DRIVE: headed "Data" which is almost empty

E-DRIVE: headed "Recovery" which is almost full.

Can someone please reassure me that when I copy across files from my external hard drive onto my new HP PC, the correct DESTINATION, ie the drive I need to put them in is the D-DRIVE?

Thanks a lot.

@AlecUK

D-DRIVE: headed "Data" which is almost empty is the BEST place to store user files such as documents, photos, videos ... from old computer and CURRNT computer.

Regards.

@AlecUK,

Please read this article.   Make the changes then copy your new files to the D drive DATA.
