Slow performance on HP Pavilion

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion p7-1257c Desktop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Not receiving any error messages.  Performed the HP Support Assistance Tuneup yesterday, it's better but still not what it should be.  Maybe there is malware or virus on PC?  How do I find out?  What else can I try to improve performance?

@LamboLady, welcome to the forum.

When requesting help you should always include the make/model (i.e. p6-xxxx) of the computer and/or monitor. This information is necessary for us to review the specifications of them.

Thank you for the additional information, @LamboLady.

Since the computer was released in 2012, if you haven't done a full HP System Recovery using the Recovery media that you made when the computer was new, it would be a very good idea to do it.  I do this at least twice per year.  It returns the computer to its original configuration and will make it run much better.  You should backup your personal data before beginning.

You can run your antivirus app and Malware Bytes before doing it to see if there are any viruses or malware.
