Update failed

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Windows Update security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based systems (8ESE0654) failed. I tried manually updating and it still failed. What should I do about this?

Welcome back to the forum.

I am not an HP employee.

 

Go to this Microsoft site. Download and run the Windows update troubleshooter.

 

I had this(Windows 7 update failure) happen back in January 2018.

 

Tried the above troubleshooter. Tried resetting Windows update components. Tried a manual install using Windows update Catalog.

 

Tried a system restore. Tried using a backup OS image.Tried running check disk.

 

Nothing fixed the problem.

 

Had to do a clean installation of Windows 7 to fix the problem.
