Greetings @louisville100

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that your computer is not booting to the desktop screen, is that right?

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you using a Desktop or Notebook computer?

May I know the exact product number of your computer? Please do not share the serial number of your computer.

Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?

Perform a Hard reset on your computer.

Turn the computer On and keep tapping F10 repeatedly on startup to enter BIOS.

Restore the BIOS to defaults.

Save and Exit BIOs.

Perform a Hard reset again.

Turn the computer ON and keep tapping F2 or ESC repeatedly on startup.

This should get you to a Startup Menu and from there you can select System Diagnostics.

Please select system diagnostics and run a system test. Click here

If the test fails, please contact our phone support for the service options.

If the test passes. Please exit system diagnostics.

Go back to the Startup menu and select recovery manager.

In recovery manager, please select troubleshoot and then select advanced options.

In advanced options, please select automatic repair.

For other troubleshooting steps, please refer this Guided troubleshooter for assistance.

Keep me posted.
