Microsoft Windows Vista (64-bit)

I have a HP Pavilion Media Center KJ376AAR-ABA m8430f Desktop PC, Last year, original failing 500 GB drive swapped out for a 1TB: Model    WDC WD10EZEX-21M2NA0. Still operating with Vista 64.
I get the message "Windows Update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running "

Can you direct me to the proper Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver needed to solve this?

Many thanks to all.

Vista is not support by updates anymore.

Only upgrade alternative is WIN 7 upgrade.  That will give you until Jan 2010.

Get the Home Premium version.  Perform the upgrade and it will overlay WIN 7 onto your system.
