Wireless Connection for Small Form Factor dc5700

HP Recommended
dc5700 Small Form Factor
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

hi............

Hi.....

I have a Small Form Factor dc5700. The

O S was reinstalled. The OS is Windows 7

Home Premium 64 Bit. Now understand,

this is not the original OS, but a new one.

So, after reinstalling, in the network

adapter window, there is no wireless

connection icon showing and I'm trying

to GET the Wireless Connection back.

I have attempted to download files that

I was hoping would re-instate the

wireless, but so far, no luck. Can someone

help? Thank you, in advance.

Hi:

I don't know of any dc5700 that came from the factory with built in wireless networking.

If your PC needs a wireless network driver, then in the device manager, there will be a device labeled as a Network Controller.

That is what Windows names the wireless network adapter when no driver is installed.

If you see such a device name, please post the hardware ID for it so I can figure out who makes the device and what driver it needs.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID...

https://www.howtogeek.com/193798/how-to-find-drivers-for-unknown-devices-in-the-device-manager/

If you do not see such a device name, then your PC definitely does not have wireless hardware present, and the easieat thing to do to add wifi to your PC would be to purchase an external USB wifi adapter.

Hi...

Ya know, thinking back, I think you're right.

Our setup was close enough to hook into

the router...and now...investing 10 $ for a

USB is the best route, without driving my-

self nute, thanks 🙂
