my audio device doesn't show up

HP Recommended
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

so i just reset windows on my computer cuz it crashed and i needed to keep all my files. I know that I'm supposed to reset or update the drivers or somthing but don't know a lot about it. So I looked up how to do it and I didn't get very far when i noticed that my computer says i have no device inputted for my audio driver (but i clearly have my speakers plugged into the output jack). i looked at other directions and they all say to select the audio device on the "audio playback" tab but i am given no option whatsoever. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. If someone needs a visual, I can "re:" with a pic of the directions and/or the sound settings.
