Hi:

There are no standalone USB drivers.

On a PC that old you need to do two things...

1. Install the Intel chipset drivers and restart the PC.

This package installs Intel Chipset support on the listed desktop models and operating systems.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp27501-28000/sp27532.exe

2. Make sure you have updated to at least XP SP2.  Better to have SP3 on there however.

Installed the intel chipset support download, no problem, however still have the same problem.

Windows XP with SP3, USB works fine with external wifi to router, USB works fine with audio output, USB mouse works fine, however will not support flash drive, PNY, Cruzer, hardware detects flash drive present, error message no drivers to support flash drives.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know what you can do about that issue.

From your response, the USB port drivers are installed or nothing would work.

Some flash drives require special drivers that you may be able to get from the hardware manufacturer's websites.

But normally they are plug and play.

Windows detects the device in the USB port, installs the mass storage device drivers, and that is that.

Something else is wrong.
