There are several ways to do this depending on what operating system you have installed or want to load.

Hello toronto 1960, Sorry to hear you need to reinstall your system to a fresh install. This does seem to help when the system starts to slow or for other resaons.

pjtikkanen offered a very good link for this purpose. HP computers, as well as most OEM computers can be restored to the state when they were shipped. In order to achieve this, it would be best to know your model number, since many models perform Recovery Restore task a little differently.

Some use the Recovery Restore Utility on the D: partition of your hard drive, while other use the Recovery Restore disk.

Please advise you model number and maybe someone here can help with your HP Recovery Restore.

Be aware that you need to backup all your data files, and reinstall any programs installed after you got your system, since the hard drive will be reformatted and all data will be lost.

Hope this helps.
