My HP support assistant program says it has "essential system updates for microsoft windows 10" and "this update installs Microsift fixes and enhancements for Windows 10 to help your computer run better" and "Softpaq number SP79946 Version 11.32p1".

I don't quite understand:

(a) my windows update service is saying my device is up to date, so if it is windows updates that the HP support assistant is recommending, then why is windows saying it is up to date?

(b) why HP software is pushing what seems to be windows updates - why not just use windows update service? (which I know I can do, just curious on this point, and i assume HP support assistant will keep suggesting I do this)

I've re-done the check for updates in both HP support assistance and windows update service, just in case they were out of sync, but no change to above.

(it's talk like a pirate day)
