HP 23es 23-inch Display
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I purchased 23es monitor 4 days ago.

It was working fine for couple of days and from yesterday onwards there is a vertical line appearing on the monitor.

I tried the following, but nothing helped me
 1. Swtiched from HDMI to VGA
 2. Tested with second computer.
 3. Reinstalled/updated monitor drivers.
 4. performed static discharge.

@Karthikeyansamy

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand there's a black vertical line on the screen,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

I appreciate the fact that you've tested with an alternate monitor, however, you haven't mentioned if the issue occurs on it as well or does it not?

Also, does the line occur on the BIOS screen? to identify if this is a hardware or a software issue with either the monitor or the device/computer?

While you respond to that, I recommend checking if the line appears on BIOS (Accessed by tapping on F10 while restarting the computer).

If it works on bios without the issue, it's a software issue, update the drivers from the HP Website, if the issue persists: please reinstall windows using the recovery partition or the recovery media to fix the issue.

If it doesn't work on BIOS either, it's a hardware failure and you may need to Contact HP to set up a hardware repair service.

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

* Open link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

* Enter Product number or select to auto detect

* Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

* Scroll down and click on HP contact options - click on Get a Case & phone number.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

If you would like to thank me for my efforts to help you,

feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on the "Accept as solution".

Have a great day!
