i want to buy an external monitor for my laptop

this monitor takes usb type b input

my laptop has USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s) port

Now, can i connect this monitor with my laptop using laptop type c port and also take power from laptop?

The specs of your machine is

It ONLY has 1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with / without hub/dock/adapter

That USB type B input is for up/down stream data.

so you mean that this usb c port is for data transfer only...not for power input/output and video-audio
