I have the same issue with a thinkpad x1 carbon 6th generation and an HP Z32 display connected over USB-C. When the laptop approaches full charge, the display begins to disconnect and reconnect in an infinite loop.

 

I can reproduce this in Windows (with latest updates) and linux. I have all the latest firmware updates on the thinkpad.

HP: is there a bug with how the display handles the USB-C Power delivery protocol? I think I am going to have to return my monitor, since not being able to charge over USB-C is a big dealbreaker and was one of the reasons I bought the monitor.
