550-126 where is memory card slot

Where is the memory card slot on the Pavilion 550-126?  The slot on the front does not look like the right size.  Is there a way to get a diagram of the front and rear functions?

550-126 where is memory card slot

I am referring to a standard SD card used in a camera.  When I try to insert it into the slot on the front of the 550-126, it only goes about halfway in and even then it does not seem to be a secure snap-in position.  This is not my normal experience with the use of SD cards.

If your PC reads the card  then you are doing it right.

Unfortunately, the quick answer is that it did not read the card, and that is why I am still hoping for an answer.

Any possibility that I can get an answer to this question?

Should the slot perform in this fashion, meaning accept only half of the card and not snap it in?

It depends on the reader a lot of them the card goes in half way on some it may go in fully.  From my experience I have only used readers that take the card in half way.  Your problem might be missing drivers for the reader.  Go to HP's download section of drivers for your model.  Then go to where it says driver storage download the realtek usb card reader driver.

I agree that the SD card only slides in half-way.  You should with Device Manager for any error flags.  Also check in Control Panel for the Auto Play setting for Memory card.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

This photo shows an SD inserted in the slot on the front of my wife's 550-156 the way it was when the computer had a major breakdown.  Is this the way it should look when it is ready to be read?SD in Pavilion 550-126 (Medium).jpg
