Creating a set of system recovery disks.

Pavilion 500 series, 500-223w
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

i am trying to create a set of recovery disks for this computer.  I have been trying to use "PHILIPS" DVD-R, 4.7GB, 1-16x disk and the computer will not write to these disks,  It gives me a message stating i should use a better disk.  The software states it does not support rewritable +/-RW disks for this operation.

What style and brand of disks are recommended for this operation?

What is the exact wording of the message?

Did you mean "bigger"?

Note that "dual-layer" DVD-recordable disk can store 8.4 GB.

Did you choose to write to such disks, or to "single-layer" disks?
