Re: Error Code 80070005 on Windows update

I have read that this is generally an error given when permissions are inadequate, possibly due to being logged onto a guest account or non administrative account.

But many have argued this was not the problem.

That said it might be easier & faster to run a microsoft tool to look for the problem and fix it.... Or contact microsoft. This is the link for the microsoft tool.

Re: Error Code 80070005 on Windows update

Found a related forum with a couple possible things to try. Hope this helps.

Also make sure the time, date and time zone on your pc is correct. This is important for checking/getting updates.

Re: Error Code 80070005 on Windows update

The security install below causes the error I went through each update since the error deleted this and when it reupdate onto my PC it casue the 80070005 so for soem reason microsoft is causing the problem and refuses to resolve the issue with its customers. Maybe Apple is looin better everyday.
