Touchsmart CTO 600-1000T
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Over the years the only problem I've had with this Desktop is the SD card reader failing, for a variety of reasons.  Yesterday I had a new antivirus installed and a major clean-up with lots of old files deleted.  This morning I have an error on an USB port (don't know which one) and sure enough - the F: drive for the SD card reader is not appearing, and does not work when I insert a card.

Would so appreciate the help!

Greetings @vldeloach,

Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are facing an issue with your computer not reading any SD card on your computer.

Don't worry, I will be glad to help you.

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps on your own?

Recommend you install the drivers available at this link and check if it resolves the issue you are facing.

Install and run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated. Click here to know more.

The card reader is integrated with the USB controller on your computer.

Once the driver is installed, insert any SD card in the slot and check if it gets detected.

Also, open device manager and check for any unknown devices, if there are any unknown devices, right-click on it and check for driver updates.

Refer to this HP Article for other troubleshooting steps.
