touchsmart 600
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello!

  • I have a TouchSmart 600--an all-in-one with several inputs except one for a second monitor. (On Windows 7).
  • I purchased a VGA - HDMI (AV?) adapter hoping it might work.
  • It did not.

Asking for help, or a direction, please. I've searched through several different forum threads similar to mine, but the responses were several years old with no resolution besides perhaps I should have gotten a USB adapter. I've yet to find someone who successfully paired a second monitor.

I did get to Display - clicked detect. Nothing was detected. Second monitor (19inch Acer) says no signal.

Appreciative of any advice 🙂

Hi,

What is your  touchsmart 600 ? Must be  touchsmart 600-xxxx. Please check its label at the back. The following links show two examples:

HDMI port on your machine probably is an HDMI IN port that why it won't work.  You need an USB-VGA adapter to be able to connect to a second monitor.

Regards.

Thanks for replying!

Ok, it's a 600-1350. And so the HDMI input can't be used for a second monitor?

If you don't mind, could you give me an example of a USB adapter? I saw several online and don't want to buy the wrong thing again.

Thank you again 🙂

Hi,

1. You can't plug in port to another in port, this won't go anywhere.

2. The following adapter is one example. You can but many similar ones around, cheaper

Ok, thanks. Just to clarify, this will not work because the hdmi is in-put only? The adapter I bought plugs into it, and the vga plugs into the adapter...

Hi,

Your machine it not an HP 600-1350. The HP 600-1350 does not have HDMI port.
