I had to pull the hard drive out of my old HP as it was no longer accessible due to a black screen of death ... it is operable as I have it currently hooked up to another computer (not mine) - it is sitting in a portable docking station which is connected to the computer - so that I can access and work on some files located on it.
I have just received my new HP tower - HP ENVY Desktop - 750-410xt CTO - and need to know the easiest way to transfer the old hard drive to my new one (the old one has Windows 8 on it, the new one, Windows 10) ... like, can I just attach the current docking station to my new computer and "copy and paste" so to speak, or do I need to use a specific program or cable or such? Other than the OS on the old drive, I need everything on it, especially old emails etc.
TIA

Hi,
Since it is OUTSIDE its old machine now, copy and paste is the way to go. Note: copy and paste program files won't work, you have to re-inall them.
Regards.
