Hi @RC9768,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The issue you're describing with the HP Reverb G2 headset, where first the left lens and then both lenses go black shortly after turning on the headset, can be quite frustrating. There could be multiple reasons for this problem, including software conflicts, hardware malfunctions, or connection issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are properly connected. The Reverb G2 has several connections, including the DisplayPort and USB connections to the PC, as well as the connection between the headset and the cable. Disconnect and then reconnect all of these to ensure a firm connection.

Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or corrupt graphics drivers can cause display issues in VR headsets. Update your graphics card drivers to the latest version available from the manufacturer's website.

Windows Mixed Reality & SteamVR Updates: Make sure that both Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR and the SteamVR application itself are updated to the latest versions.

Check for Overheating: If the headset is overheating, it might turn off lenses to cool down. Make sure the headset is not covered and has proper ventilation during use.

Try a Different Port: If possible, try connecting the headset to a different DisplayPort on your graphics card. Some ports may not provide a stable connection or enough power for the headset.

Power Management Settings: In your computer’s device manager, locate the USB devices connected to your HP Reverb G2. For each, go to the properties and under the Power Management tab, ensure that "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked. This prevents your PC from turning off the headset to save power.

Factory Reset: Consider performing a factory reset on the headset. This option might be available through the software you use with your headset (like Windows Mixed Reality settings or the HP setup software).

Test on Another PC: If possible, try connecting your headset to a different PC. This can help determine if the issue is with the headset itself or the original PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
