Hp 25x support 120 hz on ps5?

@Ahmet10,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Your HP25x monitor has an HDMI 2.0 and a DisplayPort 1.2 video outputs.

The online sources I looked at say that in order to get 120 Hz, you need HDMI 2.1:

"While HDMI 2.0 does support 1080p 120Hz in theory, the PS5 is designed with HDMI 2.1 in mind and therefore any lower bandwidth version of HDMI will produce unexpected results. You can count on 60Hz in 4K and 1080p if connected using HDMI 2.0.  Your gaming monitor needs to have HDMI 2.1 if you want to game on PS5 at up to 4K 120Hz.

That means the bottom line is HDMI 2.1 definitely matters. It’s essential to get the most out of the PS5 visually, but remember to make sure it’s full 48Gbps HDMI 2.1".

In other words, you PS5 will connect to your HP 25x but defaults to 60 Hz.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
