GTX 1050Ti graphics card not working

Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi. I just purchased a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050Ti Windforce OC 4GB graphics card for my HP Pavilion HPE h8-1124 Desktop PC.

But after inserting the card into the PCI-E slot, the computer becomes stuck on the startup screen (HP logo) during bootup, while beeping several times.

I suspect the reason for this is because the BIOS is not compatible with the new card. Unfortunately, the last BIOS update for my computer was released in 2012, and installing that has made no difference.

The PC is currently running a GTX 560. The power supply is 600W. All other specs remain the same as on this page.

My question -- do I need to purchase a new motherboard with the latest BIOS that is compatable with the GTX 1050 Ti? Thanks.

Hi,

You need a version 8 or higher BIOS level to run the NVIDIA GTX 1050 and that version is not available for the Carmel2 motherboard.

You might try a NVIDIA GTX 660 or 660 TI. Check the power connectors on your PSU verses the connectors required by the specific make and model graphic card.
