Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

Replacing a HDD with a SSD is a fairly easy task on Desktop PCs.

 

Doing this on a Laptop may require disassembling the chassis and removing the keyboard if the HDD is located below the keyboard.

 

Some HP Laptops may have easy access to the HDD and RAM when the components can be accessed from the bottom of the chassis.

 

I would have a local PC Tech take a look if your PC has to be disassembled to get to the HDD which is connected to the MB.
