Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I recently Purshased a HP recovery USB and this was to enable me to factory reset my pc, I have followed all the steps, I inserted the HP USB to the back of the pc, and it does complete installing windows, its the last stage where it install and customizes all software, about half way I get an error saying the process as failed, Gives me 3 options, retry, details or save log. Because this step failed I get an error on loading up the pc, which is caused because HP USB recovery couldn't complete, my pc was working great yesterday. Please help as HP doesn't seem to offer support during the weekend. also I can't access any command prompt etc

Hi@LordOmanGaming, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The only option is to reimage the operating system to factory settings.

Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

  1. Click Advanced system settings.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. In the Startup and Recovery section, click Settings.
  4. Click to clear the Automatically restart check box.

If you've been using the Recovery Partition (F11) to reinstall the OS, I recommend using the Recovery media instead to wipe out the HDD and create a new partition and fresh OS installation: Click here to obtain one, if you don't have on in your possession.

or HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool (Windows 10) Link

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion,

I called HP Tech Support today and they've told me that I have to change the Secure Boot to make sure it's set as disabled in the bios, They said once that has been set then the factory reset should work fine. So will Deffo try and fingers crossed this resolves the issues.
