omen by hp laptop 17-an0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've had this laptop for about a year and a half now, my battery is always stuck at 97%, but its dead because if I unplug it laptop immediately switches off like its a pc with no battery. for the past 5 days now I noticed performance and fps drops in game, and I heard if the battery is dead it might destroy your hardware overtime because it doesn't supply enough power and battery don't work as they should be, is it a good idea to remove the battery and always use it plugged in (since I have to always keep it plugged in and I never take it with me outside) or do I need to buy a new battery asap? (also my battery has been like this for about 6 months now. please help

Hello @MiniMaro

YES it is OK to remove the battery and run the laptop on the power cord only.

It would be best to do so anyway, just in case the battery were to swell and warp the case.

This manual is for the Omen 17-an100 series, but the chassis is the same and will show you how to access the battery...
