Product: OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0014

I have no experience with computers, so I have a few questions. I have an OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop 875-0xxx with all-stock internals. I want to upgrade my graphics card to something newer, somewhere in the range of $300-400 price range. I assume I will also need to upgrade my PSU. In general, I'm worried about size and overheating as it is prebuilt. Any recommendations for products or things I should do/upgrade?

Your OMEN by HP Obelisk Desktop PC - 875-0014 (4NM65AA), as fitted with an Edoras motherboard (SSID: 84FD) -which is a 24-pin ATX enabled powered motherboard, meaning, you can upgrade your power supply with any industry standard ATX power supply, as long as you watch its dimensions (LxWxH) for fit inside your case.

 

According to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-obelisk-desktop-pc-875-0000a/23302709/document/c0612..., your desktop was/is fitted with a 500-watt power supply with p/n: L26279-800 "Power Supply - GNRC PSU 500W Persan FR", which is equipped with two 6+2-pin PCIe power cables -please verify, and a GTX 1060 3GB graphics card -please verify also.

 

If you got the 500-watt power supply, this would be good enough for a great many graphics card upgrade options to choose from.

 

For example, a very good option IMO would be an RTX 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6, such as this competively priced $250 purchase option from a Trusted eBay Seller: https://www.ebay.com/itm/325427026754?hash=item4bc4f65b42%3Ag%3A6aIAAOSwo-pjdR8u&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAA....

 

This Dell-branded RTX 3060 Ti has a 200-watt TDP and requires only a single 8-pin PCIe power cable.
