Hello, I want to install an additional M.2 SSD on my HP Omen 15 en-0044ur laptop, to be more precise - Samsung 980 Pro 500GB M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 V-NAND 3bit MLC.
The question in this regard, is it suitable for my laptop in general? Will it fit as an additional M.2 SSD and won't the system crash?

Hi:
Your notebook does have two M.2 slots according to chapter 1 of the service manual, so you can add a second NVMe SSD.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
The Samsung 980 Pro (PCIe Gen 4) would work but only at the PCIe Gen 3 speed.
You may just want to buy the Samsung 980.
Both of your notebook's M.2 slots are only PCIe Gen 3.

You're very welcome.
Yes, the 970 will also work just fine, but it may tend to run a bit hotter than the 980.
The 980 is a newer model that was designed to run cooler than the 970.
