I bought this for my wife so she can play the Sims 4. She hooked her Apple Air Pods to it and when she disconnects the headphones, the game will not transfer sounds to the built speaker. When you right-click the volume controller on the taskbar and go to Volume Mixer, the game is not listed. Furthermore, when she goes to save and quit, it locks the PC up. she'll ALt-Ctrl-Delete to go to task manager and we get nothing. The only thing we can do after that is  ALt-Ctrl-Delete and restart the PC. Does anyone have a similar issue and/or fix?

@bbordelon Does the issue appear only on the SIM4 or did you try any other game as well? Also, did you change the playback settings to speakers instead of Bluetooth when it was disconnected to check if it helps?

Meanwhile, if the issue occurs with any game you attempt to play, here's what you need to do:

  • Go to Start Menu > click on Settings.
  • Type performance > choose Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows.
  • In the new window, go to the Visual Effects and select Adjust for best performance.
  • click Apply and ok...this should do the trick.

If the issue persists, The best way to resolve the isse is to follow the suggestions of the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

CLICK HERE FOR MORE STEPS AND INSTRUCTIONS.
(by the end of this document, all the issues should be resolved)
