Pavilion 15 dk-1056wm 2Y3S5UA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just recently got the Pavillion 15 Dk-1056wm (green backlit keyboard) from Walmart comes with 8gb of RAM and 256 NVME hard drive, I opened it up and see it has space for a regular 2.5 HDD, which I have from my old laptop I'd like to use but no way to connect it, any help is appreciated.

You need 2 parts

  • The hard drive cable is available using spare part number L56898-001.
  • The hard drive brackets are not available as a spare part          (this is the killer)

That means you can buy cable to connect but you can not secure HDD to your machine because no part. Please do not ask me why. HP authorized service providers should be able to help you.

Is the hdd brackets (caddy) laptop specific or would any that fit the hard drive itself work? (the laptop hasn't arrived yet so I can't open it to compare if what I have will work.)

Would any hdd caddy work or would it have to be hp specific?
