Instead of words, entire page is covered in black ink

I am trying to print invitations on 5x8 paper.  Each time I try to print, I get an entire page filled with black ink.  No words print at all.  Not only is this wasting ink, I'm wasting a lot of time.  Help!

Are you able to print fine on regular paper?

Did you try printing from a different application?

Did you try selecting the right paper size and paper type in the print settings?

Yes, I chose the correct size paper.  I've tried printing on heavy as well as regular paper.  There are no words printing at all.  The print preview shows the invitation as it should read, but each time I print, the entire page is black.
