Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Envy 7640 printer. I understand that your printer is printing blank pages and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

  • Check the paper.
  • Check the print settings.
  • Check for ink smears on the back of printouts.
  • Check the estimated ink levels.
  • Print and evaluate a Print Quality Diagnostic report, and then troubleshoot any defects.
  • Clean the cartridges.
  • Align the printer.

Click here and follow the document to perform above mentioned steps.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply.

Superb job on trying the different steps to isolate the issue.

If there are smears of ink on the back of your printouts, follow these steps to resolve the issue.

  • Load plain white paper into the tray.
  • On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon (). The Setup menu displays.
  • Swipe the display to scroll to Printer Maintenance, and then touch Printer Maintenance.
  • Touch Clean Page Smears.
  • After the printer prints a test page, touch OK.
  • Review the test page to see if the issue is resolved.

Let me know if that helps.

Cheers.
