Hi,
After power loss the photocopier HP Laserjet E87650DN is stuck for approximately 5 hours probably making a check disk.
This has happened to us 3-4 times and this behavior is hard to handle as the machine is important for us to be always up and running.
Our guess is that this is a check disk procedure.
Is there a way to avoid that and skip the check disk?
Thank you!

Is there a way to make a faster check disk?

This device is a contractual model that is only to be sold by an authorized HP partner who provides end to end service and that service is to be included, typically in a cost per page contract . You should contact your vendor for support. The firmware revision will be something higher than 4.10.0.1 and I would only be guessing at this point as I have not seen an official number.

The issue that causes this will be addressed in a new firmware slated for release this month. Have you tried running the disk diagnostics from the preboot menu to eliminate a failing hard drive?

Repairtrooper thanks for the fast answer.
I have a couple of questions:
1. What is the expected fw "version number" for the version that fixes our problem?
2. >>>"Have you tried running the disk diagnostics from the preboot menu to eliminate a failing hard drive"
We dont know how to do that.... Can you give us instructions?
Thanks
Andreas

The new firmware is available at support.hp.com. Yes it appears to resolve the issue. We have had 2 clients that were having this problem. The recommended steps if the system is locked up are pretty extensive. What we have been doing is have the client leave the machine off overnight and they seem to come up to ready no problem and then we update the firmware.
